Celtic Alliance Position
Practical participant. Drakeford attended the first Celtic Forum in Brittany (August 2023) as Welsh First Minister โ alongside Scotland's Shona Robison, the Irish ambassador, and representatives from Cornwall, Brittany, Asturias, and Galicia.
He also signed the Welsh Government-Cornwall Celtic Heritage Collaboration Agreement (July 2023), formalising cultural cooperation.
As a Labour First Minister, Drakeford's approach was pragmatic โ participating in existing Celtic cooperation frameworks without endorsing the more ambitious independence-linked proposals of Plaid Cymru.
