 28 May 2026: Good Jobs Bill deadlocked in Executive 
 Archibald's Good Jobs Bill — a major workers' rights reform package — was discussed by the Stormont Executive but no agreement was reached. The bill would replace zero-hour contracts with "banded hours," cut the trade union recognition threshold from 21 to 10 employees, and give unions a "right to request" workplace access. The DUP and UUP oppose it, backed by business groups including the Institute for Directors. Implementation of banded hours targeted for 2029, with union access phased from 2028-2030.
