## Celtic Alliance Position

**Symbolic supporter.** Sturgeon's most notable contribution to the Celtic Alliance concept was backing a **"Celtic Corridor"** — improved transport links between Northern Ireland and Scotland — in **November 2016**.

She said improved connectivity between Celtic nations made "economic and cultural sense." The proposal included better ferry routes, rail links, and air connections between Belfast and Glasgow.

During her leadership, Scottish Government maintained strong bilateral relations with the Irish Government and participated fully in the British-Irish Council. However, she did not pursue formal Celtic Union proposals.
